The International University of Grand-Bassam is seeking a dynamic person to fill the position of
Admissions Recruiter in the Student Affairs & Enrollment department.

The International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB) is a private, publicly assisted institution,
which offers an American curriculum in English. It opened in 2005, and, by the signing of Decree
2007-499 on May 16, 2007, was formally accredited as a University within the Côte d’Ivoire higher
education system. Envisioned as a Regional Center of Excellence in Higher Education in Africa,
IUGB’s mission is to provide internationally recognized higher education through technology-
enhanced English medium instruction in fields critical for regional development, international
success and life-long learning.
BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Recruiter is responsible for achieving the assigned
enrollment goals by managing the marketing and recruitment process for assigned programs and

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties:
 Implement, monitor, and achieve annual recruitment goals for assigned programs and
territories, including engagement in consistent prospect follow‐up, routine tracking
procedures, and development of reports on the inquiry and applicant pools.
 Plan and implement recruitment activities and strategies to cultivate and recruit prospective
applicants in the assigned territories.
 Manage applicant pool, utilizing campus administrative software and ongoing strategic
communication, including in‐person appointments, phone calls, direct mail, email, and social

media, all in an effort to encourage an application for admission and ultimately enrollment.
 Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process, financial aspects, and opportunities
at the university. Respond with immediacy to the needs of the prospect.
 Maintain a clear understanding and support of the nature of the institution and communicate
this to prospective students, parent, guidance counselors and other constituents.
 Represent and market the International University of Grand Bassam to prospective students,
businesses, community groups, and other targeted audiences.
 Attend college fairs and other off‐campus recruitment events. Involves extensive fall travel,
periodic travel throughout year, and occasional evening and weekend work that is inclusive of
required work hours.
 Contribute to the planning and execution of activities and special events designed to enhance
enrollment, including on‐campus visits, visit days, and orientation events.
 Serve as part of the Admissions team, coordinating and collaborating with colleagues across
departments.
 Complete routine office work and reports related to recruitment, projections, personal
schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
 Assist with completing a comprehensive strategic recruitment plan with the ability to forecast
and provide projections
 Assume other appropriate responsibilities as delegated by the senior admissions staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Deep understanding of the American-style education system and academic structure.
 Willing and able to travel. Some evening and weekend work required as a part of regular
work duties/requirements.
 Ability to manage a recruitment territory, work under tight deadlines, and meet assigned
enrollment goals.
 Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and maintain a positive attitude.
 Passionate about the International University of Grand Bassam and higher education.
 Understanding, familiarity and experience with an American-style higher education
environment.
 Experience working with undergraduate students through the offering of American-style
academic support services and counseling.
 Professional demeanor, dress, and personal interactions.
 Ability to interact effectively and represent the institution professionally with a variety of
on‐ and off‐campus constituents
 Skills in effective verbal and written communication and public presentations.
 Excellent organization skills and demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve

problems and initiate, implement and finalize recruitment related projects.
 Working knowledge of computers and ability to work with database software tools for
tracking and reporting while also having an understanding of Student Information Systems in
higher education.
 Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
 Strong student‐centered ethic and customer service orientation.
 Global/international higher education experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Bachelor’s degree in communication and/or Marketing required.
 1‐2 years related outreach experience with an emphasis on working with students in the
academic division within an American-style higher education context.
