The International University of Grand-Bassam is seeking a dynamic person to fill the position of ACC I in the Administration and Finance Direction (ADF) Department.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
The Accountant I performs a broad range of professional accounting functions in support of the University’s financial operations. The incumbent is responsible for preparing financial statements and ensuring the accuracy of financial and tax information. S/he ensures that all financial transactions comply with established accounting principles, standards, and institutional policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties:
- Oversee general and analytical accounting operations,
- Ensure the accuracy and compliance of accounting entries with SYSCOHADA, US GAAP, IFRS),
- Collaborate with the registrar and the Students Financial Service on tuition revenue, account payables and receivables management,
- Manage monthly and annual financial closings under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration
- Oversee the annual inventory operation in close relation with other units,
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures,
- Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to recommendations under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration
- Ensure compliance with tax, contractual, and donor requirements
- Lead and train accounting staff,
- Assign tasks and conduct performance evaluations,
- Promote a culture of ethics, accuracy, and service excellence,
- Prepare periodic financial statements and management reports for the Director of Administration and Finance review,
- Support the Director of Administration and Finance in presentations to the Board of Trustees and accreditation agencies,
- Ensure traceability and transparency of financial data,
- Maintain secure and organized records of financial transactions,
- Ensure traceability of restricted funds, grants, and endowments, in compliance with the University policies and procedures,
- Prepare documentation for donors and institutional partners under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Excellent knowledge of accounting and fiscal management principles and practices.
- Strong ability to prepare and present accurate financial reports in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software applications.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting frameworks (SYSCOHADA, U.S. GAAP, IFRS).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and French (oral and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field,
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience at a Chief Accountant level or at least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience,
- Auditing firm profile is a ‘Must’.
